Basically, the U.S. government—and specifically, U.S. Customs and Border Protection—wanted information on the anonymous Twitter account @ALT_uscis, which has been tweeting about immigration issues, and taking a particularly anti-Trump stance.
Twitter, as they've done repeatedly in the past, stood by its mission for user privacy as well as transparency.
Victory for all Twitter users. And the resistance continues.
