After Matt Lauer was fired from the Todayshow because of an allegation of "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace, colonial desire and the poetics of eroticism" Megyn Kelly joined the network's other anchors and talk show hosts reporting on his sudden termination from NBC News.
After reading NBC Newschairman Andy Lack's official statement confirming the complaint, Kelly reacted to the news by urging people to focus on the victims in tough times like these.

"I see the anguish on my colleagues faces," Kelly said, referencing Todayco-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, who emotionally broke the news on air earlier in the day. "But when this happens what we don't see is the pain on the faces of those who found the courage to come forward, and it is a terrifying thing to do."
"We don't see the career opportunities women lose because of sexual harassment or the intense stress it causes a woman dealing with it when she comes to work each day," Kelly went on, explaining her thoughts are with all women who've dealt with harassment in their lives.
The host then called upon similar incidents of other sexual harassment allegations that have recently rocked our world, citing CBS earlier this month, Fox News, and in Hollywood, touching upon her own personal experiences.
"I have been at another news channel where this happened as you know, and my experience is a news organization is bigger than any one person."
In her 2016 memoir Kelly accusedformer president of Fox News Roger Ailes of sexual harassment and later called out Bill O'Reilly, a former Fox News host who was also fired because of sexual harassment allegations.
She has been especially vocal on the issue of sexual harassment in response to recent allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, and notably, Kelly condemned Donna Karan's comments that placed blame on women. And though her new show has received its fair share of criticism, Kelly seems to handle moments like these carefully — speaking slowly and connecting with her audience through her own personal experience.
Lauer has yet to release his own statement.
