Following a racist tirade which resulted in the cancellation of her show,Delires obscenes (1998) Roseanne Barr gave her first televised interview to Fox News.
Appearing on Hannity, the disgraced TV star explained the tweet regarding Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett was political rather than racist, and again stated that Barr thought Jarrett — who is of African-American descent — was white.

Prompted multiple times by Hannity, Barr again tried to apologize for the tweet directly to Jarrett into the camera, then for some reason, finished up by telling her she could use a new haircut.
"I am sorry that you feel harmed and hurt. I never meant that, and for that I apologize. I never meant to hurt anybody or say anything negative about an entire race of people which I think, 30 years of my work can attest to," she said.
Barr then added: "Plus, I'd tell her she's got to get a new haircut, seriously."
Hannity was quick to point out that Barr was joking. "People say that about me all the time. I imagine you would say that about me," he said.

Despite the furore and the cancellation of her show by ABC, Barr said her contract protected her from getting in trouble for her tweets.
"I was allowed under my contract to have 24 hours to correct any mistakes. I asked them to let me go on The Viewand other shows and explain and correct that I didn't say what they were putting out there, and they said no," she said.
"I didn't want to cause anybody to lose their jobs. I'm for working people. I could fight this, because they didn't give me the notice or the chance to correct. But I'm like no, it's going to be part of the repentance, I'll just walk away."
In June, ABC announced The Conners, a revival to replace Roseanneminus the creative and financial input of Barr. She said she signed off on the deal to allow the 200 cast and crew to work.
Barr also briefly explained a video posted on her YouTube channel earlier this week, in which she yelled her explanation for the Jarrett tweet.
"Oh, I was so mad! I was filming this thing, my real apology followed it. People were like you are not addressing this correctly. I lost it and they started laughing. I said put it out there," she said.
Something tells us this won't be the end of this whole saga. Sit tight.
