President Donald Trump and Switzerland erotice-commerce site Amazon have a longstanding feud that usually amounts to a lot of bluster, but now Amazon thinks the president's bias against the company is getting in the way of its business deals.
Amazon filed a suit against the Pentagon on Friday after the U.S. Department of Defense awarded Microsoft a whopping $10 billion contract for a data management project called the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure, or JEDI. The military contract was awarded in October.
Amazon Web Services cloud computing was up against Microsoft's Azure for the deal. Trump strangely jumped into the fray earlier in 2019 and continued to bring up his criticisms of the nearly $1 trillion company and dislike of billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
As the Washington Postreported, Amazon is now arguing that Trump's "unmistakable bias" influenced the decision to select Microsoft for the contract.
In a statement from an Amazon spokesperson sent to Mashable, the company said, "AWS is uniquely experienced and qualified to provide the critical technology the U.S. military needs, and remains committed to supporting the DoD’s modernization efforts. We also believe it’s critical for our country that the government and its elected leaders administer procurements objectively and in a manner that is free from political influence. Numerous aspects of the JEDI evaluation process contained clear deficiencies, errors, and unmistakable bias — and it’s important that these matters be examined and rectified.”

Trump's also been vocal on Twitter with his distaste for Amazon .
We also reached out to the Department of Defense for more on the suit filed under seal (Amazon claims it contains trade secrets) with the Court of Federal Claims. The move comes about a week after Amazon threatened to take action to dispute the decision.
