The airline was granted permission to capture aerial views of sacred sites at Uluru and Kata Tjuta for the first ever, working in partnership with Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Board and the Film and Photography Consultative Committee.
You can hop on a helicopter to see ancient Uluru, explore Kakadu National Park, or climb up the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you like what you see, you can book a flight in-app.
Qantas Group Executive Brand, Marketing, Corporate Affairs head, Olivia Wirth said the app is an innovative way for travellers to plan a trip Down Under.
“Our aim with the new virtual reality app is to connect with travellers by showcasing parts of Australia they may not be familiar with..." she said.
The Qantas VR app is available for iPhone, Android, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive devices.
Users can also view the VR footage with Google Cardboard, or just stick to 2D mode.
