Sidney Wolfe, a 20-year-old student at Marshall University, donned a white gown, covered herself in blood, and drove to a haunted house in rural Kentucky last Friday night. She was filling in for a friend to promote a local production of Carrie: The Musical, and was tasked with handing out promotional materials and posing for photos with haunted house attendees, USA Todayreports.
The musical is based on a film, which is based on a Stephen King novel of the same name in which an extremely sheltered teenage girl with telekinetic powers snaps after her high school bullies douse her in pig's blood during prom, and kills her classmates, teachers, and mothers in a murderous rampage.

A bystander rushed over to check on her, and upon seeing the sheer amount of blood on her body, called 911. Fire trucks, ambulances, and the police swooped in before Wolfe could explain that she was fine.
"The 911 responders handled it real well but they were all really freaked out at first," Wolfe told USA Today. "They were expecting something really bad. They kept asking, 'Do you need medical assistance?"
On the plus side, the local production of Carrie, which closes Friday, saw a major spike in ticket sales.
