Those were the chilling words tweeted by Solange Knowles Thursday, following the fatal police shootings of two black men in the U.S. within 48 hours.
SEE ALSO: Beyoncé on Alton Sterling, Philando Castile's deaths: 'This is a human fight'She posted the tweet as parents nationwide struggled to explain to their children the events in Louisiana and Minnesota, which saw 37-year-old Alton Sterling shot outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge and 32-year-old Philando Castile shot during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights just days later.
In an attached image, Knowles revealed a message she seemingly received from one of her friends. "Man I'm kinda messed up right now," it read. The sender's child was crying and said she was scared for her life, the message continued. "Who do we call if the police kill us," the child asked.

Knowles expressed her anger at the events of the week in a follow-up tweet, saying: "The trauma that is being passed on to us, and our children, by this non stop murder of our brothers and sisters is sickening."

"What are you doing about it,"one follower asked Knowles after her tweets.

Solange's sister Beyoncé has long been a key voice in the Black Lives Matter movement, with her single "Formation" - and accompanying music video - tackling police brutality. Beyoncé issued her own clarion call Thursday.
