Upon landing at Perth Airport around 11:36 a.m. local time, the flight's 97 passengers and five crew members were promptly evacuated from the aircraft after hydraulic issues filled the plane with fumes and smoke.

PerthNow reported that two people from the flight were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and one woman "had to have her eyes flushed to remove the fuel."
Ross Jenkins, a passenger on the evacuated plane, told PerthNowthat while he saw no smoke onboard he smelled a kerosene-like substance. "We landed right at the tail end of the airport which I thought was unusual,” he said, and explained that he heard the captain yell, "evacuate, evacuate, evacuate."

Following the incident, Qantas made a statement confirming that all passengers and crew were safe and accounted for. Though the airline said no emergency landing was requested, police, fire crews and St. John Ambulance were at the scene "as a normal precaution."
According to the airline, engineers are now inspecting the QantasLink/Network Aviation aircraft involved in the incident.
